After participating in Marília Mendonça’s wake and funeral procession, singer Maraísa, 33, revealed that she is facing difficulties in accepting her friend’s death.
“Everything in my body hurts. I only know how to talk crying and you very well know how bad I am at these things”, he wrote on social networks, as if he were in a dialogue with the singer, who died at 26 on Friday ( 5) after the crash of the plane carrying it in Caratinga (MG). “I will never understand! But I will always love you. And I will honor your name and your dreams until the end of my life.”
Mendonça, known as the “queen of suffering”, and the duo formed by Maiara and Maraísa would do the Festival das Patroas tour in 2022. The three would perform from March in Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília and São Paulo. The mega production would bring together the three voices of feminejo, country music made by and for women.
“What about our dreams? What about our plans?”, asked Maraisa in the text published at dawn this Saturday (7).
Unreconciled, she feels alpha. “I start to say something and forget! I’m strong and suddenly I go off the rail! I’m going to sing and it seems like I’ve never done that in my life.”
Maraisa said she wants to hear the album recorded by the three, with the memories of the choice of each track. “But you don’t answer. You don’t say anything. It feels like you’re sleeping in a princess’ dream,” he lamented.
The singer also revealed that she never imagined needing a black outfit to meet Mendonça for the last time. In an account of the farewell, she said that she had kissed and touched her friend.
“Gathering my pieces, my strength, talking to God and asking for help, more than ever, because I never had to talk to someone locked in a wooden box.”
Maraisa said that this time he will not be able to remain unshakable. “It’s a pain, a sadness…”
Mendonça was buried early this Saturday night, at the Parque Memorial Goiânia cemetery, along with his uncle and advisor Abicieli Silveira Dias Filho. The coffins, which left in procession in Fire Department trucks at 4:50 pm from the Goiânia Arena gym, in the capital of Goiás where the singer lived, followed the city’s streets and highways under the eyes of fans and onlookers.
