Brooke Shields Reveals She Fought With Michael Jackson Over Inventing A Romance: ‘He Laughed’

Brooke Shields denied the rumor created by singer Michael Jackson (1958-2009). The two were just friends and never had a relationship in the early 1990s. The lie, which was told by the King of Pop in an interview with presenter Oprah Winfrey, left the actress very angry at the time and three decades later, she recalls the situation that, today, I still see it as “pathetic”.

The star of “The Blue Lagoon” told the British newspaper “The Times” that at the time of the interview she was dating actor Dean Cain and she even called Michael: “I called and complained. I called the situation pathetic and said he didn’t need to make up the story. Quite irritated, I even commented ‘I’m trying to have a normal life, you can’t throw me in the middle of this hurricane’. I got mad”.

According to Shields, Michael just laughed it off and changed the subject. “It never crossed my mind to live a romance with him”, says the famous woman who is about to release a documentary about her career.

She even recalled another occasion when Jackson acted as if they were a couple and tried to kiss her without consent. “There was one time we were in a car, with a bunch of photographers [do lado de fora] and he held me down to kiss me, I said, ‘No! Stop! We’re just friends and you need me as your friend,'” Shields added.
