Catia Paganote, one of the paquitas —as Xuxa’s stage assistants were called—, revealed that the bond between the girls who met in the 80s is no longer strong. She admitted that the WhatsApp group that existed a few years ago was closed.
In an interview with the Papagaio Falante podcast, Cátia said that the former paquitas stopped communicating after confusion. “The group ended, I don’t know why. There was a group that was just the first generation and another group that had girls from the other two generations with us. But then it started to cause confusion and it ended” she said.
The actress also revealed that she is not friends with her former colleagues. “Just liking a photo on Instagram, sending congratulations” is the most contact she has. When asked about homesickness, she didn’t blink when answering that no one from the former group misses her.
Andréa Sorvetão, one of the paquitas, was involved in controversy with Xuxa in 2021, when she and her husband took a political position in favor of former president Jair Bolsonaro. On the occasion, Andréa received an unfollow from Xuxa on social networks. She was also left out of the documentary that will tell the story of the Queen of Baixinhos and which should be released on July 13th by Globoplay.
Catia also said that she would have liked to have gone to Navio da Xuxa, in celebration of the 60th birthday of the Rainha dos Baixinhos: “I am sad because I was not there, participating in that party”. The cruise trip gathered friends, famous guests and fans to celebrate the idol.
