A few days after visiting her ex-husband Daniel Alves in prison, in Barcelona, Spain, model Joana Sanz decided to leave social networks due to “the harassment of the media to which I am subjected”. She explained the decision in a statement published on her Instagram page this Sunday morning (2).

In the note, she said she does not know if this is enough for the press to stop waiting for her at airports, at the door of her house or hotels, at the exit of restaurants, in the middle of her work and even approaching her loved ones.

“I hope this all stops, because it is affecting my mental health and my social life. I am not a person who is always exposing myself publicly because it causes me anxiety and it is not for me,” she said in the message.

The model goes on to thank the messages from supporters and people who don’t even know her. “Thank God I can do my work away from the media spotlight. I thank all the people who supported me with precious messages of encouragement and who even hugged me in the street without knowing me. I don’t know if I’ll come back here, it’s time to hang up.”

Former player Daniel Alves, who was in the squad of the Brazilian national team in the last Cup, has been arrested since January 20, 2023, accused of sexually abusing a young woman in a nightclub. He has regularly received visits from his ex-wife.

Joana confirmed to a Spanish television network, Telecinco, that she filed for divorce in early March and denied that the most recent visit to the prison was for the two to talk about the division of the couple’s assets.

“We don’t have to talk about money because Daniel and I have separate property, we don’t have anything in common. The only time we talked about money was at the beginning of this whole situation. I was devastated and, through your lawyer, I asked – him to find me an apartment in Paris, where I was going to work. I never needed anything from him. Each one of us always had his things and his work.”

The two met in 2015 and were married two years later in a secret ceremony on Ibiza, an island in Spain. Daniel Alves is the father of two children, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, from his previous marriage to Brazilian Dinorah Santana. The couple split in 2011 after 10 years together.
