The pop singer announced her role in the film in an Instagram post yesterday. The image shared is one of the new posters released online and in print magazines and depicts her as a Barbie mermaid.

“This Barbie is a mermaid!!” he wrote in the caption. From Barbie’s official Instagram page there was a response stating: “There will be a splash (excitement).”
The film, which is set to hit theaters on July 21st, was directed by Greta Gerwig, and its premiere is eagerly awaited by Barbie fans. In addition to appearing in a role in the film, Lipa is also rumored to have recorded several new songs for the soundtrack, although this has not been confirmed so far.
