Miss is expelled from contest in Espírito Santo after starring in a fight with another woman

With one month to go before the Miss Espírito Santo 2023 pageant, Thayssa Florindo lost her crown, sash and the right to represent the municipality of Iúna. The law student was disqualified from the competition, after a video went viral on the internet in which she fights with another woman in the middle of the street in Itatiba, the neighboring city where Thayssa had won the beauty contest.

“I went down the same stick. Move and I’ll go down another one”, says the young woman in the video when being removed by friends from the middle of the confusion. The episode had a negative impact on the event organizers, who decided to disqualify Thayssa.

“She failed to comply with an important clause of Miss Universe Espírito Santo: the finalist candidate cannot get involved in any type of situation that generates violence or that violates the ethical concepts of the dispute”, said coordinator Charles Souza to G1. “The runner-up, from Iúna, Auris Rocha, will compete for the title of most beautiful woman in Espírito Santo”, he added.

Thayssa recognized that she was wrong and pointed out the other woman as the culprit for the confusion. “She threw a glass of drink at me. She was not drunk as they accused me, but I was very angry because of the whole situation that had been set up. All because of jealousy of her ex-boyfriend”, said the now ex-Miss Iúna , who did not reveal that she was not shaken by the disqualification from the contest, which last year elected Mia Mamede. The capixaba broke a 68-year fast for Espírito Santo that had never won a national beauty contest.

“I was disqualified for the speech I made at the end of the video, saying that I really had to hit. However, I feel normal […]. I continue to follow my life normally, as far as possible, I do my college, which is my life goal, “she explained.
