In an interview with Carlos Alberto and Renata de Nóbrega’s podcast, artist Cintia Abravanel, 60, eldest daughter of Silvio Santos, revealed details of her relationship with her father.

“I was raised away from him,” she said. She lost her mother at age 13 and went to live with her maternal grandmother. “I used to stay away from my dad.”

According to her, after the Panamericano bank crisis, which was controlled by Sílvio, the six daughters united around the presenter. The rapprochement was marked by a trip to Orlando, in the USA, where Silvio has a home. They stayed ten days with him.

“From that day forward we celebrate my father’s birthday and Father’s Day.”

She said that today she understands the distance after the separation and her mother’s death. However, she recalled that as a teenager this was difficult.

In the interview, the artist defended her son, actor Tiago Abravanel, who in “Big Brother 2022” revealed the distance from his maternal grandfather and the suffering for never having been integrated into the patriarch’s surroundings.

“He spoke the truth. He didn’t grow up close to his grandfather,” he said. “He didn’t speak evil, he spoke the truth”.

Cintia even revealed that in a phase of her career, after separating from her ex-husband, she survived with a basic basket she received from SBT and was left in debt for her children’s school fees. Even so, she did not ask the presenter for help because it was not his obligation.

Cintia also said that she is getting to know Silvio Santos better, “a 92-year-old gentleman”. According to her, her father complains about old age and says he doesn’t like this “joke”. Despite the relationship difficulties, she stated that she learned to be simple and strong with him.

Former administrator of Teatro Imprensa, which was part of the Sílvio Santos Group, the artist stated that the closure of the venue was one of the losses of her life and that she is proud of the cultural actions she organized, including the training of actors.

“I suffered a lot when it closed. I discovered that I had no friends, I only created jobs”, he lamented. Cintia is rediscovering herself in the visual arts and recently opened the exhibition “Sou eu” at CPTM’s Palmeiras-Barra Funda station.
