“Yes. We weren’t married very long,” Johansson laughed, adding, “He’s a good guy.”

Johansson and Reynolds married in 2008 and divorced in 2011. Reynolds later married Blake Lively in 2012 and the two have four children together.

Since then Johansson married French journalist Romain Dauriac in 2014 whom she divorced in 2017, while since 2020 she is married to Colin Jost.

Asked what Johansson has learned from her past relationships, the actress replied: “It’s funny. I’ve known Colin for a long time, but only through work… I would never have been ready for a relationship like the one I have with Colin in earlier stages of my life because I wasn’t comfortable setting boundaries and didn’t know what I wanted or what I needed from someone else.”

Johansson, who called her husband of two years “compassionate,” went on to say that things changed for her when she realized the “fundamental qualities” she wanted in a relationship.

“I think one of the things I realized is that there are certain fundamental things about your own personality that I need, anyway, and that I had to share with the other person,” he said.

And he added that understanding the fundamental things a person needs from their partner is essential for a relationship to last. “I think recognizing those things was a game-changer for me,” he said.
