Vitão talks about dating Luísa Sonza and recalls attacks: ‘Giant hypocrisy’

Vitão recalled the courtship he lived with Luísa Sonza and claims that the troubled period of attacks directed at the couple was caused by a sexist view of society, which conceives concepts based on the person’s gender. It was during the relationship that he wrote “Coisa de Mulher”, a song in partnership with Ivete Sangalo.

“It talks about my vision of the feminine and the woman. It seeks to ironize this saying ‘a woman’s thing’. A woman’s thing is, in fact, swimming against the current of a sexist society, which lives dictating what you should do for your gender , he says in an interview with Quem magazine.

The singer announced in mid-April that he will be a father for the first time. However, he did not disclose the name of the child’s mother. A few days later, the alleged mother appeared on social media demanding financial help. According to model Suelen Gervásio, she had to borrow money from a loan shark because she was unable to pay the costs of a four-month pregnancy.

“When I wrote, I was relating to Luísa, living that moment of people massacring us. People were cursing her and saying dark things about her choices to live, end a relationship, fall in love with someone else. The machismo rooted in the minds of women people made them say that Luísa was owned by another man”.

Therefore, Vitão says that he now reflects on what he will share with his followers on the networks to avoid possible attacks. “You have to think carefully about every word you say on the internet. The internet has become a stoning court. It’s gigantic hypocrisy.”
