Book Day 2023 themed logo READ & CHANGE was displayed today on the facade of the Hellenic Parliament building, as part of World Book Day.

As stated in a related announcement, “in this way, as with its other events, the Parliament broadcasts the message of the great and timeless value of books and reading in the formation of the citizen but also in the quality of democracy, it is stated in a related announcement of the parliament”.

The Greek Parliament took part again this year in the established Book Walk on April 22 organized by the Greek Book Association as part of Book Day with the participation of 63 public and municipal libraries, bookstores and publishing houses. On Saturday 22 April, the Library of Parliament welcomed the public to the Houses of Parliament, working and storing its precious and rare treasures, while also opening the gate of the former Public Tobacco Factory to take visitors on a tour of its exhibitions, conservation workshop , in its reading room and bookcases.

April 23 has been established by UNESCO as World Book Day, in honor of two leaders of world literature, William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes, who passed away on April 23, 1616.
