BBB 23: Voting in the final ‘flop’ and it has a stark difference in relation to past editions; compare

The voting in the final of BBB 23 (Globo) surprised the public. According to Globo’s official announcement, only 76,290,810 million votes were counted. But after all, where are the reality fans? The number is extremely lower than the votes of the last editions and the difference is stark. At BBB 22, for example, in which Arthur Aguiar was champion, 730 million votes were cast. Already in the previous year, the BBB 21 final had 633 million votes when giving the award to Juliette.

In 2023, Amanda was the big winner of reality, registering 68.9% of the votes this Tuesday (25). On the podium, Aline Wirley was in second place with 16.96% of the votes, and Bruna Griphao in third, with 14.14%. At the awards, Amanda received BRL 2.88 million and a car.

The last final with such a low vote was at BBB 16, which Munik was the winner and 76.5 million votes were computed. Since then, all finals have had expressive numbers.

On social media, the champion’s name didn’t even end up in the Trending Topics on Twitter. Which leads everyone to the conclusion that BBB 23 really “flopped”. The public even noticed that the votes per minute -a detail that Globo always makes a point of showing- were not even being shown on the live program.

Boninho, director of the program, reached the level of exposing himself in a “Game of Discord” to try to leverage the audience and, of course, Internet users noticed the director’s desperate attempt. “The desperation is so great that Boninho exposed himself to ridicule, to try to have some audience in the worst edition in the history of the BBB”, wrote @JasonHoffman. Another internet user, @gus_martins, also commented: “BBB with the Final with the lowest audience and with a ridiculously small vote for the internet age. Congratulations, BBB23, audience failure. Boninho will need to make do in the 30s with the advertising market. fearful world after this mico.”
