BBB: Remember the main villains and the reality rejection records

by

Big Brother that is Big Brother needs to have someone that the public loves to hate. The tradition of choosing the villains of each edition has been going on since the early 2000s, when reality TV appeared in the country. Each season, there are contestants who stand out, whether for better or for worse.

And if the champions of each edition are marked, the villains also remain in the viewer’s memory. The first of them, still remembered today, is Tina, from BBB 2. It was she who became the protagonist of one of the most legendary scenes of all editions when she hit the pan and messed up her competitors’ clothes. Ended up eliminated in the second Paredão.

The cowboy Alberto, from BBB 7, was also a villain much commented on in 2007 when he turned against Diego Alemão and Íris Stefanelli, putting them on the same wall with Fani Pacheco, the love triangle of the issue.

The public did not like this, because, in addition to both (Alemão and Íris) being the darlings of the program, Alberto had won the lead after a withdrawal by Alemão himself in a race that lasted 21 hours. Subsequently, Alberto left the competition with 85% of the public vote.

In 2010, Thessaly was considered the villain of the game. At the time, she created controversy by getting involved with Michel, who had a girlfriend outside the house, and also by criticizing the other women in confinement. She was eliminated with 78% of the votes.

But some of the villains in the most guarded house in Brazil didn’t even have to go through a Paredão to be eliminated. An example was plastic surgeon Marcos Harter, from BBB 17. He ended up being expelled from the reality show for allegedly assaulting Emily Araújo, with whom he had a toxic relationship.

He was even indicted by the Civil Police who entered the BBB house at the time. In a public apology, Harter said in 2017 that he had “no intention to hurt” and blamed the pressure suffered within the program for the attitudes of taking the girl by the arm, cornering the wall and putting psychological pressure on her.

Ana Paula Renault, from BBB 16, was a different villain. Despite having distilled controversial comments within the confinement, such as when he called a colleague a pedophile and said he thought everyone should be sexist, he fell into the public’s graces and was saved from some walls. In one of them, fake, she was the winner and asked to return to the game shouting the famous catchphrase “look at her”. But after slapping Renan in the face, she ended up being expelled from the competition.

More recently, the level of villainy seems to have increased on a massive scale. Issues 20 to 21 of Big Brother Brasil presented many of them to the public. The 2020 edition was the first that united anonymous with celebrities. And one of the famous was considered a villain: the gymnast Petrix.

Accused of harassment and involved in controversy, Petrix was the second eliminated in a quadruple wall with 80.27% of the votes. The departure was largely due to confusion at the first party in which the gymnast was accused by internet users of touching the breasts of Bianca Andrade, known as Boca Rosa.

A few days later, Petrix was accused again of committing sexual harassment with Boca Rosa. A video showed the sportsman rubbing his hip on the blogger during a hug. At another party, Petrix was accused of rubbing his genitals on Flay’s head.

In the same edition, Hadson ended up eliminated after trying to implement a kind of loyalty test against women committed to reality. The idea was to make them burn. However, he and Lucas were the most burned of the edition and considered sexist in the game.

Coming to the 2021 edition, there were also not a few villains and rejects. In fact, BBB 21 was a record in terms of rejection. Karol Conká is the newest holder of the post, as she left the competition with more than 99% of the votes. Reality fans did not buy the way she treated Lucas Penteado, who gave up on the game. At one point, he ordered him to leave the table where he was eating.

Something similar happened with the comedian Nego Di, eliminated with more than 98%. After having established a friendship with Penteado, he turned against him and was the protagonist of great fights. Lucas Penteado left the game for feeling rejected in every way and for not having had support at home.

The rejection in percentage at the time of elimination cannot always measure the villainy of the competitors, since the Paredão itself undergoes a significant change throughout the editions, going from double to triple. Aline, from BBB 5, for example, had 95% of the votes in the dispute with actress Grazi Massafera.
