The 10km of the Patras-Pyrgos Motorway, which have not yet been released, was carried out today by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Dimas.
“More than 410 employees are currently working on the construction site and work is going very fast compared to the latest autopsy I did last August and at the same time I found great progress in the implementation of the project,” he said in statements by Mr. Dimas, adding: ” November 30, is valid. “
He also toustin that “our goal is on the day of St. Andrew’s feast to be able to release the rest of the 10 kilometers so that we have a safe and comfortable highway connecting Athens, Elefsina, Corinth, Patras and Pyrgos.”
“So, we are optimistic, allowing us to arrive on November 30, which is our goal,” he added.
As he pointed out, “November 30th will be a day of double celebration for Patras, because, first, the patron saint of Saint Andrew is celebrated and secondly because we are very optimistic that they will be released and the last 10 kilometer of the Patras-Pyrgos motorway.”
Regarding the traffic bypass, due to the work being carried out, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport emphasized: “We also understand the suffering of the citizens, but I think we all understand that this suffering will disappear with the surrender of the project, so we ask for their understanding and understanding. Then we will all be pleased, as the highway will operate normally. “
For the section from Pyrgos to Tsakona, he said: “Our goal is to complete the Patras, Pyrgos, Kalo Nero, Tsakona and we have already begun to consider some alternative scenarios, and when we are completely ready we will make the right announcements.”
For his part, the Secretary General of Infrastructure, Dimitris Anagnopoulos, said that “today’s autopsy on the last 10 kilometers remaining to complete the motorway was very important, because we found that there was a lot of work in a very difficult and complex section of technical projects.” But, as he noted, “the work is proceeding seamlessly and the timetable for completion of the project will be respected.”
In statements made by Olympia Officer Panagiotis Papanikolas, he stressed that “in about a month and a half, the last 10 kilometers of the Midilogli of Patras will be delivered in the last 10 kilometers of the Midilogli, to the hub of Alissos, which will improve it”.
“The under construction section of the motorway has two peculiarities. The first concerns the construction of the project with the simultaneous movement of vehicles and the second is the relief of the area and its proximity to the city of Patras. These peculiarities create the need for many technical projects, such as retaining walls, above-lower crossings and transfers of utility networks, which make the project complex and difficult, “he added.
Speaking about the temporary detour of the in force, Mr Papanikolas pointed out: “We realize that this bypass is causing some nuisance to the drivers, but we want their understanding, because the remaining time is short until the work is completed.”
