‘I was the victim of a coup’, says Luisa Mell on controversy with changing institute names

Luisa Mell spoke late this Sunday afternoon (30) about the episode involving the organization that bore her name, but is now called Instituto Caramelo, in honor of the most popular dog in Brazil. Some netizens criticized the change in the networks and also claimed that many donations were made because of the participation of the presenter and activist. The entity then countered the criticism, claiming that it never made donations. “I was the victim of a coup,” said Luisa.

“Two weeks ago I reported here that I had already lost control at the Institute and that I was fighting to get it back. I am the founding president and the main civil and criminal responsible person. I have always donated. I have donated, my health, my time, my image, my work , my contacts”, began the presenter, frightened by the repercussions of the controversy.

Luisa continued with her outburst. “Also remembering that I never had a salary. I already asked for money here, I begged and humiliated myself asking for money. Just for the Institute to be able to maintain itself, but from the moment I discovered partnerships made in my name without my authorization and with conditions absurd, I decided not to delegate more responsibilities. Then I became an enemy”, she commented.

In conclusion, Mell accused the now Caramelo of a coup: “Given my attitude of not putting up with anything that did not have my authorization, since they used my name and image, I was the victim of a coup where they changed the regime so that I could not decide anything else. How could I keep asking for money for the Institute?”, he questioned.
