“Queer Movie Nights” returns for the 2nd year at the Trianon cinema on May 15-17, 2023. A celebration of queer cinema with international productions, premieres, Greek films and special guests in the heart of Athens on the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia , Amphiphobia & Interphobia*. 2. “Tools tell the story. The forgotten history of wood-carved textile tools”: Exhibition at the Benaki Museum of Greek Culture

On Tuesday, May 16, the Benaki Museum of Greek Culture opens the periodic exhibition entitled “The tools tell a story. The Forgotten History of Wood Carved Weaving Tools’. The exhibition displays a large number of traditional wooden carved tools related to spinning, sewing, knitting, embroidery and various small-scale textile techniques and how they are used. The exhibition material includes a set of pastoral woodcarving tools and tools that have been produced in Greek prisons from the end of the 19th century to around 1950, while the presentation is complemented by corresponding objects from the wider European area.
