It’s time to get back on track with full force. After almost 20 years in Europe accompanying her husband, actress Clarice Alves, 34, wants to use the cards up her sleeve -among them, acting courses and experience in classes with Lady Gaga and Nicole Kidman’s coach- to score TV, streaming and film work.
Wife of player Marcelo, formerly of Real Madrid and back at Fluminense, where he started playing, Clarice says that she never gave up her profession, but prioritized motherhood when she left Brazil. She and the side of the tricolor carioca have two children: Enzo, 13, and Liam, 7.
Back in the city where they were both born, she now wants to pay more attention to her own professional life. “I’m open to whatever comes,” she announces. Experience she has: Clarice was the protagonist of the Spanish film “Urubú” (2018), by Alejandro Ibañez, and made appearances in the soap opera “Tempo de Amar” (2017) and in the miniseries “Passaporte para a Liberdade” (2021), both on Globo .
Clarice says she is aware that being married to a world sports star can overshadow her at times. Normal. She is assured. “Of course, because he is so famous, he ends up bringing greater visibility to our family, but what matters is my vocation”, she says. “My paths were always traced independently of Marcelo’s”.
Habituated to the sands of Ipanema, where she is usually seen sunbathing and diving with her husband, the actress is excited about her return to Brazil, the chance to go to the beach more often… What is really annoying is having to readapt to the constant presence of at least one bodyguard.
“In fact, in Europe I had greater peace of mind, I didn’t use tinted windows in the car. But being from Rio, I don’t stop going anywhere here in Rio. It’s an adaptation to the new routine. Of course, we have to be more attentive and go out with more security guards, but that doesn’t interfere with our life”.
