The Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakos announced today from Kastoria a new financial program to support the fur industry in the amount of 21 million euros, during his meeting with local bodies at the city’s Chamber of Commerce.

This is the third aid program for businesses affected by the war in Ukraine and the restrictive measures taken on the export of fur products.

The program lasts for two years, while the method of distribution of the money will be finalized in the next period after consultation with the Region of Western Macedonia. Mr. Theodorikakos emphasized that it is “an urgent need to take quick steps towards a new productive model, for Kastoria and the wider region of Western Macedonia”.

He announced that in the next semester new development programs will be announced that will focus on the financing of extroversion actions, mainly for small businesses including the fur industry.

On Monday the Minister of Development will visit Florina, where he is expected to announce initiatives concerning the Industrial Area and will conclude his visit to Amyntaio, where investments concerning energy storage and a hydrogen production unit are planned.
