Son of Rita Lee, João Lee shared this Friday (19) the feelings upon returning for the first time to the house where the singer and Roberto de Carvalho. Rita Lee died on May 8, aged 75, and since then her husband and son have not been to the residence.
“The day before yesterday was the day my father and I decided to go back to the house where they live. It was the first time since my mother left and after 3 months living together in my apartment”, wrote João on Instagram. The musician then vented about what he felt.
At first, fear took over the son who recently lost his mother: “I was stopped inside the car for about 10 minutes, unable to leave the place. Out of nowhere, I was hit by a whirlwind of memories and feelings”.
João also related the memories in the place: “the house where I spent the last two years. The house where I lived through difficult moments and such special moments”. Surrounded by trees and animals, not even the environment was able to comfort him: “who knows, maybe he would hear the sound of nature, of animals, I don’t know, something that would bring me calm. However, I could only hear absolute silence”.
The musician vented about the feeling of emptiness that prevailed: “only those who go through it know how it is. There is no other emptiness that is as strong or that comes close”.
Then, he reported having visited his mother’s favorite places, but not being able to feel her presence: “I visited all the environments and corners where she used to stay. I had dinner sitting where she had dinner at the table, I watched TV sitting in her seat in sofa, I went to her room, hugged and smelled her clothes, lay on the bed and looked at the little stars on the ceiling”. “The feeling of emptiness is still very persistent and strong,” he wrote.
João also told about the new autobiography. “You have to read this book now. You will love it and understand many things”, Roberto de Carvalho told him. “Reading the book, in addition to bringing me comfort and peace, also brought what I wanted most: the feeling that she is here with me”, wrote the musician. “Another Biography” will be released on May 22.
