The Alternative Stage of the National Opera participates for the first time in Athens Pride 2023 with the first presentation of the performance Living Roomof a musical performance created by baritone and drag performer Georgios Iatrou and visual artist and director Anthi Kougia and combines drag with classical singing, set poetry and visual arts.
The Living Room will be presented at the ELLS Alternative Stage at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 8:30 p.m. Entry for the public is free with tickets, which will be distributed from Monday 29 May 2023, at 12:00, exclusively through ticket services.
In the Living Room, Georgios Iatrou, creator of the drag persona Nina Nai, and Anthi Kougia create a stage metaphor, based on personal experience, for the concept of chameleonism that we often adopt, burying our true identity in order to adapt to the environment. Nina Nai is accompanied on the piano by the distinguished chief musician and pianist Giorgos Ziavras, while the scenery is designed by the architect Jacques Louspas.
