“Neighborhoods on a plate” will make a stop in the small neighborhood of Kolonos, this Sunday, June 4 at 5:45 p.m.

A quiet neighborhood with many neoclassical buildings renovated and not.

The same pattern extends to the culinary landscape where historic taverns and traditional bakeries meet cafés and croissanteries with a postmodern, delicious result.

This time the tour will start quite early, while the dough is being made! In the traditional oven

“To Epirotiko KM” Dimitris Skarmoutsos meets Mr. Theodosis preparing the dough for his breads. The same dough he has been preparing for 32 years with his wife, in the same place, with the same love.

Next stop is “Cafemageiras Φ2”, a modern neighborhood kitchen opened by two brothers who love traditional Greek cuisine. The shop has gained fanatical customers over the years, who now come to the shop… with their plate!

The usual dessert stop will be this week at the ‘Croissanterie Butterfly’. It is a shop that has been open for a while in the area and specializes in the demanding preparation of the perfect croissant.

The walk to Kolonos could not be completed without a stop at “Hamilos”, the traditional music tavern. The shop is housed in a building with 100 years of history. The phrase “if walls could talk” fits perfectly here!

Returning to the studio, Dimitris Skarmoutsos prepares two special recipes: chicken caciatore with penne and cake with pistachios and lemon glaze.
