Babu Santana participates for the second time in São João da Thay, the charity party organized by influencer Thaynara OG in São Luís (MA). But the actor didn’t come just to have fun: he is one of the ambassadors of “Elementos”, the Disney/Pixar animated feature that had its Brazilian premiere during the event.

“The film is exciting, and it deals with everything we’ve been talking about in a playful way,” he said to F5, referring to discussions about diversity and inclusion that permeate society. “Everyone will identify.”

Babu only regrets not having participated in the dubbing of “Elementos”. “I love dubbing! It’s another way of acting. You can exaggerate, you can transform into any character. Here’s a tip for Disney!”.

He also celebrates the success of the soap opera “Amor Perfeito”, currently occupying the 6 pm slot on Globo, where he plays Friar Severo. “A wonderful cast, from veterans to newcomers. Not just as actors and actresses, but as people.” Babu highlights the fact that there are also many black people behind the camera in this telenovela.

“We took the first step. The black person is still not a common body on the TV screen. There was no make-up for black people, there was no comb, even the lighting didn’t work for dark-skinned people. Now everyone is finding themselves, in a very beautiful. But it’s just the beginning, we’re still far from ideal”.

And when the soap opera is over, what are Babu’s projects? “I have some movies ready that haven’t been released yet, shot before the pandemic. I also want to go back to doing shows, especially with the boys from Paizão Records, the label we created to make music. And I’m going to start building my house in Paraty !”.
