Sister begs Britney Spears to end public feud: ‘This is embarrassing’

by

Actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears, 30, sister of singer Britney Spears, 40, published a lengthy text message on her Instagram stories on Saturday, begging her sister to put an end to their “embarrassing” public fight.

“Britney just call me. I’ve tried many times to speak to you directly and handle this privately as the sisters should, but you still choose to do everything on a public platform,” Jamie Lynn wrote.

The sister claimed that she had always “been there” for Britney, and continued to defend the statements she made about her older sister during her recent interview on Good Morning America (ABC).

Jamie Lynn ended the message by asking Britney to stop with the narrative that she was not on her side and that she is making things up. “I’m happy to share how many times I’ve reached out to you, supported you and tried to help you. This is embarrassing and it has to stop. I love you,” Jamie Lynn said.

On Friday (14), Britney made a post on Twitter calling sister “scum” for accusing her years ago of having locked them both in a room with a knife.

“Congratulations honey! You’ve reached the lowest level. I’ve never been around you with a knife or would even think about doing that,” Britney said on Twitter, saying the only knife she saw near her sister was the one used to cut a knife. pumpkin piece.

“So please stop these crazy lies to the Hollywood books!” continued the artist. “Only scum would make that stuff up about someone. I’m really confused about it because honestly, it’s nothing like you.”

Britney’s statement comes after Jamie Lynn, who will release a memoir next Tuesday (18), said in an interview with Nightline, in the US, that her sister has always exhibited “erratic, paranoid and spiraling” behavior.

Jamie Lynn had already said recently that she tried to help end the guardianship her sister was subjected to for 13 years. “I’ve always been my sister’s biggest supporter, so when she needed help, I came up with ways to do it,” she said.

The statements and now accusations between the sisters come after Britney said in a Los Angeles court in June last year that her family “did nothing” to help her while her father Jamie Spears, 69, hospitalized against his will in 2019.

The singer also said her family “should be in jail” for benefiting from her “abusive” guardianship. The singer’s father was suspended from his position in September and guardianship ended in November 2021. Britney unfollowed Jamie Lynn on Instagram in early January.
