On the occasion of the celebration of Music Day – which has been established to be celebrated every year on June 21 – concerts, actions and other events take place, with free admission
Back in Paris in 1982, the Music Day began to be celebrated at the initiative of the Minister of Culture Jack Lang. A year later, the institution crossed the French borders, arriving in our country and in Athens, then the 1985 European Capital of Culture, which was the first city outside of France in which Music Day began to be celebrated.
Today, 38 years later, Music Day has taken root as an institution and is celebrated every year on June 21 – in a total of 120 countries around the world – with music and its immense power reaching far and wide, bringing close to people in the most unexpected places.
Here we have collected a selection of events-actions-concerts that take place on this occasion in spots of Athens, “lighting up” our summer!
