The reason for this 4 days in Istanbul was the 51st Istanbul Music Festival (Istanbul Music Festival). It is Turkey’s longest-running music event organized by the Istanbul Culture and Arts Foundation (İKSV).

This year’s festival, which took place from June 1-17, hosted over 60 artists, leading orchestras and ensembles from around the world, in a total of 25 musical performances – some of them world premieres – covering many genres of music: from classical, jazz , Turkish traditional to original tango pieces.

Dedicated to 100 years of Turkish democracy, the festival spread across 18 different parts of the city, transforming into concert venues, historical monuments, places of worship and other important landmarks.

Following the musical routes of the Istanbul Music Festival, we had the opportunity to explore Istanbul, going through all the important attractions, with intermediate stops at the most special cultural and culinary spots, which revealed to us its modern, young face.
