DJ Khaled, doesn’t care about fame and streams, but considers family to define him. After the birth of his first son Asad, the rapper and music producer’s life changed and he remembered exactly what he was told by Jay-Z that will happen. “It’s all about them (the family),” said Khaled in an interview with Variety. “Every single thing, the house we live in, the cars we drive, the watches, the music… Jay-Z told me, ‘Wait until you have a kid, that’s when life really begins.’». “And once my children were born, my life changed. He grew up in New Orleans, where his Palestinian immigrant parents sold clothes out of their car at flea markets and made a fortune. When he was a teenager they moved to Miami. He adored Michael Jordan, studying his career off the court – particularly as a businessman.

He started DJing and throwing parties in his early teens and at Odyssey Records in New Orleans, he met Lil Wayne and other artists Brian “Birdman” and Ronald “Slim” Williams of Cash Money Records in the early part of the decade of 1990.
