On HBO’s “The Idol,” star Lily-Rose Depp’s makeup gets as provocative as the show’s headline-grabbing and highly controversial sex scenes.

The head of the make-up department, Kirsten Coleman, also appreciates this, stressing that this is the purpose.

“It’s been really fun on this show to let things get messy…” Coleman, who previously worked with showrunner Sam Levinson on “Euphoria,” tells Page Six Style.

2-year-old Lily Rose, daughter of Johnny Depp, stars as Jocelyn, a troubled pop star who is shaken by the recent death of her mother and becomes the henchman of a cult leader (played by Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye).

Coleman says she wanted the character’s appearance to be an “ode” to two pop chart toppers who rode their own storms in the early 2000s: Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

It is worth noting, however, that the head of the make-up department explains beyond the scenes where Lily Rose plays Jocelyn to put on a show, in the shots that capture her in her daily appearances, her style and presence refer to the protagonists of iconic films of the decade 1980, such as ‘9 1/2 Weeks’, ‘Basic Instinct’ and ‘Fatal Attraction’.
