The Glass World – perhaps the most representative work of the author who marked post-war America with his drama – was written in 1944. THE Elli Papakonstantinou presents for the second day the “Bacchies” at Piraeus 260, as part of the Athens and Epidaurus Festival. The Greek creator who in recent years has won international recognition, delivers to the public an original reading of the tragedy of Euripides, a contemporary play about the fluidity of the sexes, which connects theater, opera, music and performance. “Drawing from the well-known myth, I write and direct a play about the end of the patriarchy. At its core, femininity and queer. In Bacchus I read exactly this opening of the era towards the possibility of another understanding of the world”, says Elli Papakonstantinou herself.

One of the most innovative composers in his genre, Brahem combines a multitude of musical idioms, from the Arabic musical tradition and the sound of the Mediterranean to the words western musical tradition and jazz, while with his quartet he has secured a prominent position in the jazz music scene.
