New details on Madonna’s serious health adventurewho had to be hospitalized in the ICU after a bacterial infection, are being reported by the international media, claiming that she was initially given a drug that is also used in cases of drug overdose.

According to the Daily Mail, when the 64-year-old singer was found unconscious at her home on June 24, she was injected with the drug Narcan. As the “Daily Mail” writes, this drug is used as an immediate antidote in cases of excessive drug use, but also to treat septic shock.

It is recalled that Madonna, after being found unconscious at her home, was taken to a New York hospital where she was intubated in the ICU for at least one night.

As Madonna’s longtime agent had explained, the 64-year-old singer had suffered a serious bacterial infection, which is why her planned tour has been postponed until further notice.

Sepsis is defined as an acute state of dysregulation of the body’s response to an infection (bacterial, viral, fungal or parasitic) resulting in the loss of organ function, posing a life-threatening risk to the patient. It can happen unexpectedly, during any infection.

Sepsis occurs because the body’s defenses against infection are disrupted, often resulting in excessive inflammation, which in turn prevents the various organs from functioning properly.
