Simony celebrates cancer remission: ‘I am reborn with a new perspective’

Singer Simony took to social media to celebrate the remission of her bowel cancer. She discovered the disease last year after doing routine tests.

“Today, with cancer in remission, I am reborn with a new perspective on life. I learned to value each moment, to enjoy each moment intensely and to be grateful for each small victory”, wrote the former member of Balão Mágico.

Simony had to undergo chemotherapy sessions to fight the cancer and was hospitalized for months. “This journey was not easy and it is not easy, there were moments of uncertainty, fears and challenges, but with a lot of determination, support from family, friends and incredible health professionals to win this battle”, she continued.

“I thank God for healing, for life and for this second chance that was granted to me. May we celebrate this victory together and always remember the importance of health, love and appreciation of each day.”

The singer ended the post by stating that she wants to inspire others who are going through the same situation. “If you are battling cancer, know that I am here to support and encourage you. Keep hope and trust in your ability to overcome any challenge,” she said.

Simony has recently released a book in ebook format, entitled “Um Dia de Casa Vez – The Reality Behind a Diagnosis”, in which she narrates the discovery of the disease and its treatment.
