• Wasps: Lena Kitsopoulou adapts Aristophanes’ comedy in Epidaurus

“The Wasps” by Aristophanes is a comedy that is rarely staged on the Greek stage. The play returns to the playbook of the National Theater sixty years after the performance by Alexis Solomos, in a modern transcription by Lena Kitsopoulou who signs its free adaptation and direction. In her first descent to Epidaurus, the heretical creator, surrounded by a great group of collaborators and actors, confronts a work that reflects on the pathologies of our democracy and the cracks of justice.
