The filming of the series “House Of The Dragon” are set to go ahead in the UK this summer, despite an ongoing strike by Screen Actors Guild of America, SAG-AFTRA.

As reported by Variety, the production of the second season of the HBO series is expected to proceed as planned.

The cast of the spin-off series ‘Game Of Thrones’ mainly consists of British actors who work under contracts of the UK performing arts and entertainment industry union Equity, not SAG-AFTRA.

Its members Equity is not allowed to strike in solidarity with the US union.

Shortly before SAG-AFTRA announced it had decided to join the Hollywood screenwriters’ strike, Equity issued directives to its actor-members. He said the UK actors’ union would “stand unwaveringly in solidarity” with the Hollywood union, but that members of Equity still obliged to “show up for work” as they are prohibited from calling a strike in support of SAG-AFTRA.

Following the news that production would go ahead as normal, many fans took to social media to criticize the decision to begin filming in the midst of the strike.
