This summer, the famous composer Goran Bregovic with his explosive and live presence on stage, the rousing Balkan rhythms and with all his huge successes, he is coming for two unique nights at the Alsos Theatre: Monday 4 & Tuesday 5 September.

His appeal in Greece was huge from the start and was expressed both in his recordings and in his live performances. For more than 50 years, Goran Bregovic has been internationally recognized as the highly influential composer, musician, lyricist, arranger and producer who put the Balkan music scene on the world music map.

Born in Sarajevo in 1950, Goran Bregović was the founder and creative force behind the rock band Bijelo Dugme. From 1974 to 1989, Bijelo Dugme wrote one of the most important runs to be widely regarded as the most popular and powerful band to emerge from the Balkans to date, as proved when they reunited in 2005 for three ‘farewell’ shows ahead in huge crowds.

After the breakup of the band, Goran starts a new path. Having already written several soundtracks as side projects during his time with the band, he began a prolific period composing music for films. He collaborated, among others, with the director Emir Kusturica, composing music for the films “The Times of the Gypsies” (1989), “Arizona Dream” (1993) and “Underground” (1995), with the latter winning the Palme d’Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival.
