• Frank Castorff’s Medea: World premiere at Epidaurus

The long-awaited performance “Medea” by the great German director Frank Kastorf will be presented in a world premiere at the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, as part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival. The innovative director, historical director of the Berlin Volksbein, who stamped the “German style” since the 1990s, will collaborate with great actors of the Greek theater, marrying the anarchic way of playing, improvisation and acting freedom with the modern Greek stage in an explosive directorial proposal. Starring in the show are: Maria Naufliotou, Evdokia Roumeliotis, Stefania Goulioti, Sofia Kokkali, Angeliki Papoulia, Nikos Psarras, Aeneias Tsamatis and Nikolas Hanakoulas.

  • The Accidental Death of an Anarchist, by Dario Fo at the Katrakeio Theater of Nice

“The Accidental Death of an Anarchist”, the successful performance by Yiannis Kakleas, continues its long summer tour throughout Greece, with first stops in selected parts of Attica and Thessaloniki. Panos Vlachos, Phoivos Rimenas, Ifigenia Asteriadis, Konstantinos Maglaras, Panagiotis Katsolis and Stelios Petsos – always under the direction of Yiannis Kakleas – introduce us to the caustic and denouncing universe of Dario Fo. Dario Fo, this demonic dramatist, based on real events that happened in Italy in times of tension, wrote a masterfully farcical and denunciatory satire on violence, idiocy, arbitrariness of power, manufactured lies and deliberately “blind” Justice, servant of a corrupt system.

  • Release Athens 2023: The Prodigy in Greece for a legendary show

Concert

The Release Athens 2023 welcomes Prodigy to Water Square. The biggest group of the electronic dance scene returns to Greece, after many years, for a night full of energy and non-stop dancing. Prodigy mastermind Liam Howlett formed the group in 1990, heavily influenced by the -usually- illegal rave parties sweeping across Great Britain. Through them, he will also find his collaborators, the ravers Keith Flint and Leroy Thornhill, while a little later a fourth member, MC Maxim, was added to the group. With first singles the dance anthems “Charly” and “Everybody in the Place”, Prodigy managed to become the number one electronic music figure in Europe, even before releasing their first album.
