South Korean police reportedly confirmed the screams from passengers watching through live streaming Suga of BTS was the cause of a recent disturbance on a Seoul subway train.

It has been reported that South Korean police received several reports on August 6 from passengers on the Seoul Subway Line 9 express train to Gimpo Airport.

These included 20 reports of passenger injuries, one of a fight and one of a strange smell on the train, prompting an investigation by the police and fire department, according to Yonhap News.

After the incident, people who claimed to have witnessed the incident shared on social media that subway passengers panicked and started running to escape when male and female fans leaving BTS member Suga’s concert earlier that night they started screaming watching their idol on live streaming after the show.

Seoul police have since reportedly confirmed that “the incident started when foreign nationals watching a BTS video on the train screamed” according to SBS News, Daily News and several other media outlets.

“Fans have been known to bring down the roof with their screams and shouts at concerts. But, when the same thing happens in the subway, it goes without saying that there will be panic,” South Korean press reports say.
