Honoring the legacy of a true icon, the documentary “Sly” takes audiences on a personal journey through Stallone’s life, whose impact on cinema spans nearly half a century. “Sly” is an unexpected and honest investigation into the man behind the big action movie star, he pointed out.
Directed by Thom Zini, the documentary chronicles Stallone’s difficult years as a restless New York kid who distracted himself from the outside world by writing movie scripts. His career took off when ‘Rocky’, a role he created and fought to play, catapulted his fame.
Along with the highly successful ‘Rocky’ franchise, Stallone gained international exposure with the series ‘Rambo’, ‘Demolition Man’, ‘The Expendables’ and the ‘Rocky’ spinoff ‘Creed’, which earned the actor a nomination for Oscar in 2016.
