Academy Award-winning actress, Jamie Lee Curtis, has built a distinguished career as a writer. Her bestselling books for children encourage them to be patient and love themselves. But her new book, the graphic novel Mother Nature, is more reminiscent of the horror movies she’s known for.

The actress is co-writing an “eco-horror” script with Russell Goldman, which “The New Yorker” illustrator Carl Stevens adapted into graphic novel for Titan Comics.

Set in New Mexico, the story chronicles the terrifying supernatural revenge of Nova Terrell, whose father is mysteriously killed at the facilities of an oil giant embroiled in a corruption case.

I first thought of this story when I was 19 years oldthe actress said in a statement in February 2022 when it was announced that she was writing the book.

I have always known the very unbalanced relationship between man and nature, and even though I was young, I always knew that, inevitably, nature would win. I’ve long admired and collected Carl’s work and I’m very excited that he suggested expanding the idea to turn it into a graphic novel.he emphasized.

The book ‘Mother Nature’ which explores the themes of environmental protection, feminism, motherhood and underrepresented communities, (indigenous, LGBTQIA+) was released on August 8. A film version of it is in the development stages by Blumhouse.
