A new member of a royal family can often make sure to make some changes to their appearance and more… In her case Queen Letitia of Spain it is, as the “Daily Mail” writes, about real “transformations” after her marriage with him King Felipe in 2004.

Hair and clothes aside, the journalist-turned-queen underwent a rhinoplasty in 2008 and looks somewhat different from her days as a news anchor in Spain.

Today, at the age of 50, Letitia’s appearance has changed, to the point that her wax figure on display at the Museo de Cera (Wax Museum) in Madrid has been changed twice since it was first created in 2004.

The clothes are also different. Before her marriage to King Felipe, the Queen of Spain’s wardrobe was full of uninteresting suits. Today, Letitia is considered one of the best dressed queens. Her appearances are always impressive.

In 2008, the Queen underwent surgery on her nose, which the palace said was due to a respiratory problem. The Museo de Cera replaced the first wax figure of the queen – installed shortly before she married the then Prince of Asturias – to reflect her new form. However, the wax figure was redesigned again and presented in 2017.

The Queen of Spain

Gonzalo Presa, the museum’s director of communications, told Ruptly TV at the time that while public response had been largely positive, social media opinion had turned out to be more critical. He said: “This museum has been made to ‘remember’ the characters who have been and are part of Spain’s history. There are going to be people who really like it and there are going to be people who don’t like it or don’t like it at all.”

Presa added: “Physical changes and the passage of time, but especially the physical changes that our queen has undergone forced us to rebuild her natural image. We think this is the best of them all and is also, in our opinion, the one that best reflects the greatness that Letitia’s character should have as the Queen of Spain.”

Before meeting the heir to the Spanish throne, Letitia enjoyed a long career in television and newspapers. Having also worked in Mexico, she was working for the popular television channel 24 Horas, where she was the presenter of the evening newscast Telediario 2, when she met King Felipe. Letitia was previously married to Alonso Guerrero Pérez, a writer, but the couple divorced after a year.

In a statement in 2014, Mr Presa described the Queen as a “beauty idol” but said her figure was changing because “time catches up with us all”.
