Tatá Werneck and Cauã Reymond will no longer need to testify at the CPI on financial pyramids. The artists, as well as Marcelo Tas, were summoned earlier this month to explain the relationship with a cryptocurrency company.
The decision was taken by Minister André Mendonça, of the Federal Supreme Court, on the understanding that the presence of the two is not mandatory, but optional. If they choose to attend, they have the right to remain silent.
Tatá and Cauã advertised for Atlas Quantum, a BRL 7 billion cryptocurrency pyramid that used a fake robot to attract investors by promising quick profits. The company dealt a financial blow that would have left more than 200,000 victims in Brazil and other countries.
In conversation with F5the actress’s lawyer said he was perplexed by the summons and stressed that she no longer had any ties to the company and that she would not accept participating in advertisements if she knew about the cases.
“Tatá only acted as a poster girl for Atlas, five years ago, when there was nothing that discredited that company. It is obvious that if it were known that Atlas would become involved in some scandal, harming its consumers, it would never accept link your image to that company”, said Ricardo Brajterman.
