Camila Alves recalls that Matthew McConaughey’s mother ‘tested’ her at the beginning of their relationship

Brazilian model Camila Alves has been married since 2012 to actor Matthew McConaughey. The couple is successful on social networks, where Camila shares several moments with her family. But the beginning of a now harmonious relationship with the actor’s mother was not easy.

The girl from Minas Gerais said she was very tested by Mary McCabe at the beginning of their relationship, including games involving former girlfriends of the artist.

“She did all these things [quando eu entrei na família], really testing me. She called me by the name of all her ex girlfriends Matthew, she spoke very bad Spanish,” she said in an interview with Southern Living’s Biscuits & Jam podcast.

The truce only came during a work trip to Istanbul that Camila had to make and called her mother-in-law to accompany her. But not even on the plane ride did the chatter stop.

“The whole way there she kept telling me stories and putting things through my head. About the third day, I took her to the bedroom and she started crying. I brought my little Brazilian way. In the end, she just looked at me. me and said, ‘OK, now you’re ready for this,'” she recalled.

According to the model, today the two are very close and the respect is mutual. On Instagram, Camila often shares photos of Mary’s side. She also stated that Matthew is very similar to his mother in many ways, as the two are organized, minimalist and punctual.
