Monica Bellucci remains an icon without borders of beauty to this day. The Italian is about to turn 59 and, in a recent interview, she admitted that she used her success and her body to star in films after years of a career in fashion.

“I was very lucky to be able to do both, although I’m an actress, I never left the fashion world. Now it’s the norm, all actresses do campaigns. But objectifying me didn’t bother me either, that is, when I felt that critical attitude As for me, I went with it,” she said. “Sometimes beauty creates masks. And then, I’ve also used my body in certain roles, right?”.

In the interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine in Spain, the actress cites as an example her role with sexual appeal in “Malèna” (2000), where she played a 27-year-old girl who is constantly followed and observed by boys from the village where she lives.

She started on the catwalks at age 14 and subsequently dropped out of law school to pursue a career. But Monica says that, since she was a teenager, she wanted to get into acting, which was facilitated by the world of fashion.

“I don’t belong to any film family, but I’ve been lucky enough to have access to many different directors: from Tornatore to Kusturica, from Sam Mendes to the Wachowski sisters.”

The actress is scheduled to participate in the film “Os Fantasmas Se Divertem 2”, which has a release date for 2024. The director of the feature is Tim Burton, the Italian’s boyfriend since 2022.

Monica has been single since 2019. She has two children with actor Vincent Cassel, 56, with whom she was married between 1999 and 2013.
