To this day the series “Friends” is still one of the most successful TV series and has been loved by millions of viewers around the world, both for the friendship and love we see in it and for the jokes that made us laugh.

The scenes brought plenty of laughter to the audience, no one knows what was happening on set until the episode hits the small screen.

About this, one of the screenwriters of the series spoke in her memoirs, titled “End Credits: How I Broke Up with Hollywood”. As she mentions in them, she herself has no fond memories of the popular series. “I didn’t learn much, except that I didn’t want to work in comedy again,” he said.

“The actors seemed unhappy to be locked into a veteran series, and I felt like they were constantly asking how each script could serve them in a certain way,” he said.

“They all knew how to make people laugh, but if they didn’t like a joke, they sabotaged it, knowing we’d rewrite it. “Dozens of good jokes have been thrown out just because one of them mumbled his words while eating a bite of bacon,” he explains.

Finally, he mentions that rarely did anyone from the cast say good things about the script or the jokes that were written.

“They were all sitting in Monica and Chandler’s apartment discussing the script. It was the first opportunity the actors had to express their views and they did so loudly,” he said.

“They rarely had anything positive to say and when they did raise problems, they never offered solutions. These meetings were aggressive and lacked the lightness that one would expect in the creation of a sitcom,” he added in closing.
