Luciano Huck expressed himself on social networks about the heart transplant that his colleague underwent this Sunday (27) at the Albert Einstein hospital, in São Paulo. Heir to Faustão’s schedule at Globo —it was more than 30 years since Domingão do Faustão—, the colleague considered that the day of the surgery was a good sign.
“I’m very happy with the news that Faustão’s transplant was a success”, said Huck. “Symbolic that the operation took place on a Sunday, the day he has made us happy for so many decades. I wish you a speedy recovery, my friend. It’s faith in God.”
According to the hospital’s medical report, Faustão is in the ICU after the procedure, which lasted 2h30. “The next few hours are important for monitoring the organ’s adaptation and rejection control”, says a statement signed by cardiovascular surgeon Fábio Antônio Gaiotto, by cardiologist Fernando Bacal and by the hospital’s medical director, Miguel Cendoroglo Neto.
Like several anonymous people, several celebrities also commented on the surgery and said they were cheering for the presenter. Ticiane Pinheiro published a photo alongside Faustão on social media and said: “What a joy and emotion to know that our dear friend Faustão already has his new heart!!!”. “Now we are rooting for him to have an excellent recovery,” she wrote, adding the hashtag #doacaodeorgaos.
Enzo Celulari, son of Claudia Raia and Edson Celulari, came out in defense of the presenter, after having come across questions on social networks about the speed with which the transplant was performed. “1- We continue in prayer for the speedy recovery of our dear Fausto after the successful transplant. 2- Inform yourself before judging”, published the young man in stories.
“Finally, an exercise in empathy after seeing many people say: ‘I don’t want to donate, because there could be a lot wrong with the system’. Put yourself in the other’s shoes: if I were you, needing an organ to stay alive, I have absolute certainty that I would expect a ‘yes’ from someone to the donation”, he added.
Actress Elaine Mickely said she continues to send positive energies to Faustão. “Dear friend Fausto, you cannot imagine how much we pray for you, for the whole family, how happy and emotional we are at this moment”, she said. “God never abandons us!!! He alone does the impossible in our lives!!! The Lord will continue to be present in his recovery and we want this to happen as soon as possible!!!”
“Very soon we will be celebrating your life together, dear ones!”, he said, marking the presenter’s wife, Luciana Cardoso, and the couple’s eldest son, João Guilherme Silva. “God continue to bless you and all your family! We love you.”
