The Albert Eistein hospital released this Monday (28) a new medical report on the heart transplant performed by presenter Fausto Silva. According to the health unit, the functions of Faustão’s transplanted heart “are as expected for the first 24 hours”, according to the document.
The medical bulletin also says that Faustão is still in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of the place, which is in São Paulo (SP), “breathing with the aid of mechanical ventilation”. His clinical status was classified as “stable”, with no risk of any deterioration and following the expected protocol for the short period after transplantation.
The statement was signed by cardiologist Fernando Bacal, cardiovascular surgeon Fábio Antônio Gaiotto, and Einstein’s medical and hospital services director, Miguel Cendoroglo Neto, who have been treating Faustão since the beginning of the month, when he was hospitalized after complaining of problems with health.
Luciana Cardoso, wife of Faustão, made a post this Monday to also thank the family of the organ donor, who, by protocol, does not have his name revealed.
“I thank this blessed family that, in a moment of pain and suffering, said ‘yes’ and allowed not only Fausto to have more time with his children, but also so many other recipients who are celebrating this recovery today”, stated Luciana.
“I was very happy to know that here, in this same hospital, a person, through the SUS, also received another organ from that same recipient and his second chance at life”, she ended, revealing that other organs from the donor went to other people who were also in the transplant queue.
