Actor Kevin Costner was ordered to pay his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, child support of $63,209 (about R$ 312,000) per month after a long battle in the US court. The Los Angeles judge responsible for the case, made the decision this Friday (1), granting the amount proposed by the actor, according to TMZ.
During her testimony, the “Yellowstone” star reportedly said she wanted to pass her properties on to her children and insisted: “I don’t hide money from my wife.” The ruling was a victory for the actor, who had been provisionally ordered in July to make monthly payments of $129,755 to Christine and their three children Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13.
However, earlier this week, the ex-wife filed a request to increase that amount to $175,057, claiming that the children “enjoy the same lifestyle” with both parents. On Thursday (31), however, the value reduced to US$ 161 thousand after the assessment of a technical accountant.
According to Christine, Costner’s “standard of living” should include a home “comparable” to the actor’s $145 million mansion and “luxury vacations” chartered on private planes. When citing the previous agreement, however, Costner suggested the value of US$ 51,900 – his initial offer -, accusing the ex-wife of asking for money in court to finance her own expenses, including plastic surgery.
The former model filed for divorce from the Academy Award-winner in May after marrying in September 2004. The couple signed a prenuptial agreement, which reportedly details how much Christine receives from Costner in child support and outlines her post-life situation. -divorce. She did, however, try to claim that she may not have “understood” what she signed.
