The accident involving actor Kayky Brito last Saturday (2) gained new developments. The vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is equipped with an internal camera, according to the Civil Police. Deputy Ângelo Lages, holder of the 16th Police Station (Barra), who is conducting the investigation, says that the driver used to record the races, and the images of the incident will be analyzed this Monday (4). “Based on the statements we’ve collected so far, we have information that Kayky was at the kiosk with friends and headed for the car. Upon returning, he saw a vehicle approaching and tried to run across. The driver made an attempt to brake, but did not managed to avoid being run over”, described Lages.
Still according to the delegate, the Civil Police already have images that, before the hit-and-run, another car braked sharply in front of the actor, avoiding the collision. On the way back to the kiosk, the vehicle was unable to stop on the road, which has a permitted speed of 70 km/h.
“Now, we will have access to the application’s internal images, which will allow us to better understand the dynamics of the event. Our intention is to determine whether the driver acted negligently in the accident or not. The expertise sector will have 30 days to conclude whether the vehicle was speeding or not,” concluded the delegate.
In addition to the images, testimonies are being collected by the police to arrive at the final version of the occurrence. This Monday, the passenger of the car gave her statement. Bruno de Luca, who accompanied Kayky and waited at the kiosk, will perform on Wednesday (6).
