“I’m not going to die from it,” the famous model told the WSJ
Linda Evangelista revealed that she has battled breast cancer twice in the past five years. The famous model appears on the new digital cover of ‘WSJ’. In a candid interview, the 58-year-old supermodel revealed that she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018.
“It was detected in my annual mammogram“, she said in her interview. “The prognosis was not good and due to other health factors, without hesitation, because I wanted to put it all behind me and not have to deal with it, I chose the mastectomy. Thinking I was fine and ready for my life. There was no way breast cancer was going to kill me».
However, in July 2022, Evangelista, after palpation, found a lump in her breast and finally learned that the cancer had “come back”.
“Dig a hole in my chest,” she told her oncologist after her second diagnosis. “I don’t want it to look pretty. I want you to dig. I want to see a hole in my chest when you’re done. You understand me; I’m not going to die from this“, said the famous model with disarming honesty.

Recently, her oncologist had good news to tell her… That her prognosis is good, but the model admitted she wasn’t exactly thrilled with the news, asking her doctor: “Why isn’t she perfect?”
Linda Evangelista, as she herself admitted, is simply grateful for every day she lives. “I know I have one foot in the grave, but I’m in celebration mode“, he said. “I have been through some terrible health problems. I’m at a point where I’m so happy, celebrating my book, my life. I’m so happy to be alive. Anything that comes now is a bonus“, underlined the famous model.
