The Nile Rodgers, Peter Gabriel, Billie Eilish, Rufus Wainwright joined the coalition of artists of music and acting “Artist for Action to Prevent Gun Violence” (Artist for Action to Prevent Gun Violence) which aims to inspire people to volunteer, donate and vote to end the epidemic of gun violence plaguing the US.

THE organization kicks off a series of live events, including a concert by the Bushes and their special guests at New York’s Irving Plaza on September 22.

With head the musician Mark Bardenwhose son was one of 26 victims killed in a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, the organization includes the Pixies, Halestorm, Little Big Town and more.

On December 14, 2012, a 19-year-old gunman entered Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, USA, killed 20 students and six faculty members, and then committed suicide.

“After the murder of my son Daniel at Sandy Hook Elementary School, I put my career as a professional guitarist on hold to dedicate myself to gun violence prevention,” Barden said, according to Variety.

“Please join me and hundreds of other artists, musicians, actors, athletes to finally end this senseless violence,” he said.

“This has to stop” said Peter Gabriel “So many wasted deaths. So much suffering. It just takes a little common sense,” he said.

The concert will be the first in a series of events in New York. A musical event is planned for December to mark the release of the film “A Father’s Promise” which led to the creation of the “Artist for Action to Prevent Gun Violence” coalition.
