Is it time for your child to discover how to make the color orange? Create his own tag like any graffiti artist? And to embroider with colorful threads in Braille?

He will have the opportunity to have all these experiences and many more on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September, at Zappeio Megaro, where the Art Athena 2023. The fair is organized by the Panhellenic Association of Art Galleries and is under the auspices of S.A. of the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

30 years of Art Athena

The largest annual art event celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and welcomes 67 art galleries from nine countries, invests in the creation of a new generation of artists, and like every year, this year will also host the Kids’ Educational Program designed by the non-profit international social organization Contemporary Art and of Culture, KROMA, for children over the age of four, teenagers and their companions.

Inspired by the rainbow and the concepts of hope, beauty and inclusivity symbolized not only by the colorful arch, but also by the children themselves, the 2023 educational program under the title “We are the Rainbow” includes 17 workshops and 11 speakers will they are waiting for the little friends of the exhibition to explore together the magical world of art with the ultimate goal, beyond knowledge, to discover and express their artistic selves. Under the supervision of visual artists, educators, art historians, etc., the program’s workshops have been designed to approach each subject from a multifaceted perspective, thus contributing to the holistic development of children.

The themes of the workshops

The topics cover a wide range of different art forms, such as: collage, painting, sculpture, architecture, theater play, street art, paper cutting and many more in which participants express themselves, interact with important artists and have fun creating.
