When Anitta began to be successful 11 years ago, she always included the song “Pretim”, by Flora Matos, in her concert repertoire. The funk singer said at the time that the two were close. But, it seems that the relationship is no longer the same.
Shortly after the announcement of the Brazilian winning the Best Latin Clip award with “Funk Rave” at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) 2023, Flora published supposed hints towards Anitta on her social networks.
“They once said that to get to such a place, I had to get close to a girl. There are things that I hope I never have to do”, she began, and continued sending hints. “A person I hope I never need. Dreams that may never come true, if it’s not based on talent, honesty, and respect.”
Flora, who already had an altercation with Karol Conká, in 2014, mocked Anitta more directly at the event that took place in New Jersey, in the United States on Tuesday night (12). The singer thanked her Brazilian fans, praised the country and dedicated the award to herself. “Thank you to me… I want to thank myself, because I worked very hard, my God. Another Brazilian funk”.
“She doesn’t want to be compared to someone who came later. She says she did a lot of weeding and so she can’t admit that kind of comparison. She asks what she did for the people who came before her?”, Flora said.
The rapper also spoke about “Funk Rave”, a clip in which Anitta performs oral sex on model Yuri Meirelles. “I never paid, neither money nor b****te, to have any kind of prominence, so I’m very proud of what I’ve built so far,” she added.
