Ludmilla expressed her disappointment on social media after Hemominas, the entity in charge of blood donations in Minas Gerais, rejected her campaign, which had already been carried out in other cities. The intention was to offer 700 tickets for the “Numanice” show, which would take place at the end of the month in Belo Horizonte. “I am perplexed to see how a social action like ‘Numanice is in the blood’ is overturned,” she wrote.
“There is a lack of blood in blood centers across Brazil and, when someone does something to encourage donations, they simply slow down the movement”, wrote the singer on X, formerly of Twitter. Ludmilla emphasized that the event does not profit from the action: “The event does not gain anything from this, quite the opposite, we invest the public in time and energy.”
In a note sent to the press, Hemominas stated that legal issues prevented the release of the campaign: “We have a duty to follow current legislation that prohibits offering benefits, directly or indirectly, to donors for donating blood.”
In Rio de Janeiro, Hemorio was full and 500 bags of blood were donated in a single day. In the end, the campaign reached the record milestone of 2000 bags in three days.
In an attempt to reverse the situation in Belo Horizonte, federal deputy Duda Salabert (PDT-MG) announced that she will present a Bill that aims to authorize the incentive for blood donation throughout Brazil. “The project will make it possible to offer benefits to blood, bone marrow and organ donors as long as the campaign and benefits are authorized by the public authorities,” she shared on Twitter.
The singer said that she is in contact with the deputy’s team to join forces in favor of the creation of the Law. The campaign “Numanice is in the blood” should take place in more Brazilian cities.
